Obverse description The Bulgarian state coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a crowned escutcheon bearing a rampant lion, supported on either side by two rampant lions resting on crossed flags beneath a royal crown with ermine-lined mantle. A scrolled ribbon at the base carries the Cyrillic motto legend. The country name БЪЛГАРИЯ arcs along the upper periphery within a beaded border.
