| Obverse description | Central circular field depicts a standing stone statue of King Parakramabahu I, a celebrated medieval monarch of the Polonnaruwa Kingdom, shown in three-quarter view draped in robes and holding a manuscript or scroll, set against a stylised background of the Parakrama Samudra reservoir with rippled water and rocky foreground. The figure is rendered in high relief with fine detail in the drapery. A raised inner rim frames the central design. The peripheral legend around the upper arc reads in Sinhala and Latin script, and the date 2013 appears in the lower exergue. |
