| Obverse description | Central device depicts a traditional elevated paddy storage house (kumbura), rendered with fine detail showing a thatched roof supported on stilts above a woven storage platform, with tufts of grass at the base. The design is enclosed within a raised inner circle. The district name appears in the upper field in three scripts: Tamil (கிளிநொச்சி) to the left, Sinhala (කිලිනොච්චි) across the top, and Latin (Kilinochchi) to the right, all following the curve of the inner circle.
