| Obverse description | The copper-nickel centre features the Lion Capital of Ashoka, the national emblem of India, depicted in high relief at centre with the Dharma Chakra and flanking animals visible on the abacus below. The motto 'सत्यमेव जयते' (Satyameva Jayate, meaning 'Truth Alone Triumphs') is inscribed in Devanagari script beneath the emblem. The denomination '₹10' appears in large numerals in the lower portion of the centre field. The aluminium bronze outer ring bears the country name 'भारत' in Devanagari to the left and 'INDIA' in Latin script to the right. |
