The Government of Seychelles — rather than a central bank — remained the direct issuing authority throughout this period, a colonial administrative arrangement that persisted well into the postwar decades. De La Rue's London presses produced these notes even as the city was absorbing Luftwaffe bombing campaigns; production continuity for colonial currency was treated as an operational priority by the British authorities.
