Nepal Rastra Bank contracted at least three separate printers across this note's sixteen-year run — British American Banknote in Canada, Oberthur in France, and Orell Füssli in Switzerland — without ever printing the contractor's name on the note itself. The transition between printers mid-series is tracked today almost entirely through serial prefix ranges: Satyendra Pyara Shrestha's governorship alone spans two distinct printers, identifiable by whether the "Gha" prefix is narrow or wide. That level of philatelic detective work is unusual for a circulating denomination this common.

The addition of a segmented foil security thread, introduced during the Shrestha signature period around 1995, is the single most important physical distinction within the series for attribution purposes.
