| 备注 |
P#37 marks the first 10 Rupee note issued under the Reserve Bank of India following independence — the earlier George VI series was withdrawn and replaced with notes bearing the new national identity. C.D. Deshmukh, who signed the earliest printings, had served as RBI Governor under British administration and carried directly into the new government, making his signature one of the few to bridge colonial and independent issue on the same denomination.
The series ran nearly a decade under B. Rama Rau before the 1957 decimalization rendered the rupee-anna system obsolete and triggered a wholesale redesign across all denominations.
