Obverse description The copper-nickel centre features the Lion Capital of Ashoka (the national emblem of India) in high relief, with the motto legend सत्यमेव जयते ('Satyameva Jayate' — Truth Alone Prevails) inscribed in Devanagari script immediately below the emblem. The denomination ₹10 appears in the lower field of the centre, incorporating the official Indian Rupee symbol.
