Reverse description At centre, the coat of arms of Tuapse is depicted in relief, featuring a quartered shield with diagonal bands in the lower portion and a stylised fortress or port element in the upper section, consistent with the city's heraldic tradition. A circular legend `ГОРОДА ВОИНСКОЙ СЛАВЫ` (Cities of Military Glory) arcs along the upper rim, while the city name `ТУАПСЕ` is inscribed in large Cyrillic letters along the lower rim. Small decorative elements flank the city name at either side.

Additional information

Tuapse entered the commemorative rouble series as one of the "Cities of Military Glory" issues, a designation established by presidential decree in 2006 to honor Soviet cities that distinguished themselves in WWII ground combat but did not qualify for the higher "Hero City" title. Tuapse held out through a brutal German mountain offensive in late 1942 — the Wehrmacht's push through the Caucasus stalled there, denying Germany its planned route to Baku's oil fields. The city received its official Military Glory designation in 2009, three years before this coin appeared.
