Part of the long-running series commemorating the 65th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, this issue was released in 2010 alongside dozens of regional and thematic titles produced under a mass-circulation mandate from the Bank of Russia. Brass-plated steel replaced the older bimetallic construction specifically to reduce production costs while keeping these pieces in active circulation — a policy shift that also made them far easier to counterfeit, a problem the Bank publicly acknowledged within two years of the changeover.
