Issued to mark the 225th anniversary of the Bolshoi Theatre, which was founded in 1776 under Prince Pyotr Urusov's imperial licence. The Moscow theatre had burned down twice — in 1805 and again in 1853 — before reopening in its current reconstructed form in 1856, just in time for the coronation celebrations of Alexander II.
