Obverse description Right-facing draped bust of Empress Catherine II, her hair elaborately coiffed and adorned with a diadem, with curled locks falling to the shoulder and pearl earring visible. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the Baroque portrait style, engraved by Timofey Ivanov, with the engraver's initials 'ТІ' incuse below the truncation. A Cyrillic legend encircles the portrait along the periphery, and the mint mark 'СПБ' (St. Petersburg) appears at the base of the coin below the bust.
