| Reverse description | The central vignette presents the Noul Neamț (Novo-Nyametsky) Monastery at Chițcani, near Tighina, rendered in fine-line engraved style against a multicolour guilloche underprint. The denomination numeral '10' appears at both the lower left and lower right, with the value inscription 'ДЕСЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ' centred below the vignette. An anti-counterfeiting legend runs along the lower portion of the note. |

Transnistria's paper currency has always operated in a strange political limbo — the Transnistrian Rouble is issued by a central bank of a state recognized by no UN member. The 2000 series, of which this note is part, replaced an earlier coinage-based system that itself had replaced Soviet-era coupon money. The progression happened fast, inside a decade, driven by the frozen-conflict economy that followed the 1992 war with Moldova.
The security specification for this denomination is modest — watermark and thread only, no optically variable features — consistent with a low-value note in a low-volume print run serving a population of roughly half a million.
