P#36 represents a transitional moment in Malaysian currency production — the note was contracted out to three separate printers simultaneously, an unusual arrangement that resulted in subtly different printings distinguishable mainly by the security thread specification and minor tonal variations in the ink. BA International in Canada, De La Rue in London, and Giesecke & Devrient in Munich each produced distinct batches, all circulating under the same Pick reference.
