| Opmerkingen |
Bank Melli Iran had used Bradbury Wilkinson for earlier Pahlavi-era issues, making the switch to Harrison & Sons — long associated with British colonial and Commonwealth currency work — a notable shift in procurement. This series, Pick 64, was printed at Harrison's High Wycombe facility during a politically charged moment: the 1953 CIA- and MI6-backed coup had just restored Mohammad Reza Shah following the Mossadegh government's nationalization of the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company, and British commercial relationships with Tehran were being quietly rebuilt.
The watermark is the sole security feature — relatively modest for the period, though consistent with lower-denomination notes not considered high counterfeiting targets.
