Beschrijving voorzijde	The national arms of the Yemen Arab Republic — an eagle with spread wings above a ribbon — appear at left within an ornate guilloche border. Arabic inscriptions occupy the central field, including the denomination عشرة ريال (Ten Rials) in large script, with authority and issuing legends below. The serial number appears twice, in the upper right and lower left corners, against a multicoloured underprint of fine latticework and rosette patterns.

Beschrijving keerzijde	A detailed intaglio vignette of a large dam — the Marib Dam — fills the right portion of the reverse, rendered in fine engraved line work with a rocky canyon landscape stretching into the background. The English legend ARAB REPUBLIC OF YEMEN arcs across the top of the note, with the denomination numeral 10 appearing in each corner and TEN RIALS lettered in a panel at the bottom centre. The overall colour scheme is steel blue-grey, framed by a geometric guilloche border with decorative corner devices.
