| Obverse description | Three-line Arabic legend naming the Ottoman Sultan Abd al-Aziz Khan inscribed in bold incuse characters within a symmetrical laurel wreath tied at the base with a ribbon bow. The wreath branches extend gracefully upward to either side, framing the inscription in the central field. A fine beaded border encircles the entire design, characteristic of Tunisian milled coinage of the period. |
