Obverse description A spread Imperial eagle displayed facing left occupies the central field, rendered in the traditional German heraldic style with outstretched wings and talons. The legend DEUTSCHES REICH curves along the upper periphery in Gothic (Fraktur) script. The date 1947 appears in the lower field, flanked by small dot stops. The overall design follows the Weimar-era eagle type adapted for the Allied Occupation period pattern coinage.
