10 Reichspfennig

Introduced as part of the Rentenmark stabilization that ended the catastrophic hyperinflation of 1923, this series was among the first subsidiary coinage of the new currency regime — the Reichsmark — which replaced the Rentenmark at par in 1924. The aluminium bronze composition was a deliberate departure from the debased wartime alloys that had poisoned public trust in coinage for nearly a decade.

Production continued through 1936, by which point the Nazi government was already diverting industrial metals toward rearmament. The series was replaced the following year with a cheaper zinc-based issue.
