She holds a set of balance scales in her right hand and grasps a fasces or sceptre in her left. Flanking the central figure are two branches, a palm to the left and an olive branch to the right, extending from the lower field upward toward the border. The engraver's signature BOUVET F. appears discreetly at the lower right of the exergue area. The date 1855 is prominently displayed in the exergue, beneath a faint ground line, within a beaded border. |
