背面描述 A pronking springbok (Antidorcas marsupialis) in full leap is depicted in finely detailed high relief at the centre of the field, set against a naturalistic South African landscape featuring indigenous fynbos vegetation and distant flat-topped mountains. The date '2017' flanks the springbok, with '20' to the left and '17' to the right. A circular 50th anniversary privy mark inscribed '1967·2017 50 YEAR ANNIVERSARY' appears in the upper left field. The legend 'KRUGERRAND' curves along the upper border, while '1 OZ PLATINUM R10' is inscribed along the lower border, with the engraver's initials 'CLS' also present in the lower field.

附加信息

The original Krugerrand launched in 1967 as the first gold bullion coin designed explicitly for private ownership — a deliberate workaround at a time when most Western nations prohibited individuals from holding monetary gold. South Africa's apartheid government used it as a hard-currency export vehicle, which eventually triggered a wave of international sanctions in the 1980s that effectively banned Krugerrand imports across the US and much of Europe.

This platinum anniversary piece sits outside that commercial lineage entirely — a commemorative rather than a bullion instrument. The .9999 platinum fineness is notably purer than the original gold Krugerrand, which was alloyed to 22 karat specifically for wear resistance in circulation.
