| 表面の説明 | Printed in red and brown, the obverse centers on a dark brown numeral vignette set over a guilloche underprint, with an intaglio-rendered circular seal of the Ara de Tikal positioned to the right within an ornate border and accompanied by the vertical inscription 'Autorización de 18 Febrero 1959'. The bank title 'BANCO DE GUATEMALA' and subtitle 'GUATEMALA, CENTRO AMERICA' run across the top, while the denomination 'DIEZ QUETZALES' appears in bold lettering. Three signature lines and a repeated serial number occupy the lower left and lower right registers. |

The Banco de Guatemala series of this period was printed under contract with the American Bank Note Company at a time when ABNC held a near-monopoly on Central American government printing work. The Q10 denomination occupied a practical middle register — large enough to see regular commercial use, small enough that surviving examples in high grades are not unusual.
Guatemala's quetzal had been pegged at par with the US dollar since 1925, a rate that held with remarkable stability through the entire run of this series. That monetary discipline meant these notes circulated in an economy with low inflation pressure, which tends to show — heavily worn examples exist, but genuine scarcity at the top of the grade scale is uncommon.
