| 背面描述 | Central motif depicts a Cedar of Lebanon rendered in bold stylised relief, its characteristic spreading branches filling the upper field. The Arabic denomination ١٠ قروش (10 Qirush) is inscribed in the left field, overlapping the cedar trunk. The Latin denomination 10 PIASTRES curves along the lower periphery. The engraver's signature J. HAGE appears in small letters to the lower right of the cedar trunk. The design is enclosed by a beaded border. |

By 1955, Lebanon had been fully independent for over a decade, but the Banque de Syrie et du Liban — a French-chartered institution — continued to issue its currency until the Banque du Liban was established in 1964. This coin belongs to that awkward interregnum period when a nominally sovereign state still relied on a colonial-era banking structure to manage its money supply.
The aluminium bronze alloy adopted postwar replaced the earlier silver-content issues, a change driven by global metal economics rather than any domestic policy decision.
