背面描述 The reverse displays the Arabic legend 'السلطنة المصرية' (Egyptian Sultanate) arranged in stylized script across the upper field, with ornamental flourishes. At center, the denomination '10' in large Latin numerals appears to the left and the Arabic equivalent '١٠' to the right, flanking a central decorative caduceus-like plant motif, all set above the word 'PIASTRES' in Latin script and 'قروش' in Arabic. Symmetrical palm or lotus frond sprays frame the central device. Along the lower rim, both the Christian Era date (1916 or 1917) and the Hijri date '١٣٣٥' are inscribed within the beaded border.

附加信息

Hussein Kamel was placed on the Egyptian throne by the British in December 1914 following their deposition of Abbas Hilmi II, who had made the political miscalculation of siding with the Ottomans at the outbreak of war. Britain simultaneously declared Egypt a protectorate, severing the nominal Ottoman suzerainty that had persisted for over a century. The Sultanate itself was a newly coined title — the British rejected "Khedive" as too Ottoman in flavor.

Hussein Kamel died in October 1917, making this a short series. The coins were struck at the Royal Mint in London, not in Egypt.
