Obverse description The obverse features the denomination '١٠' (10) in large Arabic-Indic numerals at centre, with the word 'قروش' (Qirsh) below. The legend 'جمهورية مصر العربية' (Arab Republic of Egypt) arcs along the upper field. The Hijri year '١٤٢٥هـ' appears to the right and the Gregorian year '٢٠٠٤م' to the left in the lower field. The mint name in Arabic appears at the base of the design, with a decorative ornament above it. The entire design is encircled by a toothed border.
