正面描述 Central field features an ornate Arabic calligraphic composition bearing the country name 'Arab Republic of Egypt' in an elaborate thuluth script, surmounted by a stylized flame or torch motif rising from the calligraphy. Two circular cartouches flank the central device at upper left and upper right, each bearing part of the denomination inscription in Arabic. The dual dating appears along the lower field, with the Hijri year 1405 at right and the Gregorian year 1985 at left, both rendered in Eastern Arabic-Indic numerals. A reeded border frames the entire design.

背面描述 The reverse displays the heraldic shield-shaped logo of the Institute of National Planning at centre, featuring a sunburst pattern of radiating lines emanating from a central circular rosette above horizontal register lines, with a cogwheel device at the base of the shield. The legend 'معهد التخطيط القومي' (Institute of National Planning) arches along the upper border of the shield. The founding year 1960 appears to the right of the shield and the anniversary year 1985, both in Eastern Arabic-Indic numerals, flanking the emblem. The inscription 'اليوبيل الفضي' (Silver Jubilee) is positioned along the lower field. A reeded border frames the design.

附加信息

The Institute of National Planning was established in Cairo in 1960 with direct technical assistance from a United Nations advisory mission, intended to train economists and planners for Egypt's centrally managed economy under Nasser's Arab socialist program. Egypt issued a series of commemorative circulation coins throughout the 1980s marking such institutions, a practice that served the dual purpose of public education and filling gaps in a mint program that was producing relatively few standard-issue types. The INP coin is one of the less frequently encountered pieces in that run.
