| Reverse description | The denomination numeral '10' in large Eastern Arabic digits occupies the central field, with the word 'قروش سورية' (Syrian Piastres) inscribed below in Arabic script. The central device is framed by an ornate arabesque border of interlaced geometric and vegetal motifs, with decorative square panels at the left and right sides containing interlocking knotwork. The legend 'الجمهورية العربية المتحدة' (United Arab Republic) arcs along the upper rim in Arabic script. A toothed border runs along the coin's periphery. |

| Additional information |
Syria's short-lived union with Egypt as the United Arab Republic lasted from 1958 to 1961, and this 1960 issue was struck during that political experiment — yet the two-star shield device on this coin specifically distinguished Syrian-region coinage from its Egyptian counterpart. When the union collapsed in September 1961 following a Syrian military coup, these coins were rapidly withdrawn and redesigned, making the entire UAR Syrian series a compressed three-year window.
