Obverse description Brown note with an oval guilloche underprint at centre left and the bank's heraldic arms vignette at right, supported by two stags and bearing the motto FIRM. The denomination TEN POUNDS STERLING is printed in large intaglio lettering across the centre field, with the bank title along the top margin and serial number appearing twice in black. A signature of the Managing Director appears at lower right beneath the promise-to-pay text.

Reverse description A detailed intaglio vignette of Glamis Castle occupies the left and centre of the note, rendered in brown with fine architectural line work across its turreted façade. To the right stands a statue of a kilted figure on a stone plinth, set against a spray of foliage. The bank title and denomination appear in the upper margin, with GLAMIS CASTLE inscribed at lower right, and the printer's imprint along the bottom edge.
