Bradbury Wilkinson held the Royal Bank of Scotland contract through much of the postwar period, and this series reflects their characteristic intaglio work — tight, dense engraving that remained legible even after heavy commercial handling. The New Malden facility was among the most technically capable private security printers operating in Britain at the time, a position maintained until the firm was absorbed by American Bank Note Company in 1990.
J.B. Burke's signature bridges both issue dates, providing continuity across the transition from Pattullo to Winter as co-signatory. Burke served as General Manager, a role whose signature appeared on RBS notes across several denominations during this stretch.
