Obverse description The obverse is printed in dark olive-brown and deep red, with an engraved vignette of the Provincial Bank of Ireland's Belfast branch building at centre top, flanked by two oval guilloche medallions each bearing the word 'TEN'. A large red £10 numeral underprint dominates the central field, overlaid with the promise-to-pay text and manuscript signature. The note is framed by an intricate guilloche border, with serial numbers in black at left and right.

Reverse description The reverse is printed entirely in violet-purple, centred on an oval intaglio vignette of two classical female figures — Britannia and Hibernia — seated together with a lion at their feet, set within an elaborate engine-turned guilloche surround. The denomination '£10' appears in large ornate characters at both left and right within the guilloche framework, and the inscription 'ESTABLISHED A.D. 1825' is placed below the central vignette.
