Background elements in each segment include imagery referencing Bletchley Park, the Enigma machine, maps of Britain and France, and encrypted cipher text. At the centre, a raised circular cartouche bears the Gibraltar Arms — a three-towered castle above a key — with the legends GIBRALTAR, 5oz, Ag999, MONTIS INSIGNIA CALPE, and TEN POUNDS 2021 inscribed around and below the arms. The toothed outer border of the coin is styled to resemble the serrated edge of an Enigma cipher rotor. |
