Obverse lettering ELIZABETH II·D·G·REG·F·D·10 POUNDS· J.C
(Translation: Elizabeth the Second by the Grace of God Queen Defender of the Faith)
Reverse description The central field presents an abstract, lightly textured sunburst or cloud-like background in matte relief, against which the word PEACE is prominently inscribed in large serif capitals at the centre. Above PEACE, the letter W and below it the letter R are positioned in a vertical arrangement, together forming a monogram referencing WAR overlaid by PEACE — a deliberate typographic statement commemorating the Allied victory. The surrounding border legend THE END OF THE SECOND WORLD WAR runs around the upper periphery, while the dual dates 1945 · 2020 appear at the base, flanked by the engravers' initials CD (left) and MD (right). The design, conceived by Matthew Dent and Christian Davies, marks the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.
