| 表面の説明 | The fifth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as designed by Jody Clark, occupies the centre of the obverse, depicting a right-facing crowned bust of the Queen wearing the George IV State Diadem and a drop earring. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail in the hair and crown. The engraver's initials J.C appear beneath the truncation of the bust. The circumferential legend reads ELIZABETH II · D · G · REG · F · D · 10 POUNDS, disposed around the effigy in raised Roman lettering against a deeply mirrored field. |

Issued as part of the Royal Mint's four-coin Shakespeare series marking the 400th anniversary of the playwright's death in 1616, this is the largest and heaviest of the set — a deliberate prestige piece aimed squarely at the collector market rather than anything approaching commerce. The series divided Shakespeare's work across tragedy, comedy, and history, drawing on the RSC for curatorial input.
Mintage was capped at 1,500 pieces worldwide.
