| Reverse description | The central device depicts the White Horse of Hanover rearing in full passant attitude, its flowing mane and tail rendered with exceptional sculptural detail. The horse stands astride a quartered heraldic shield bearing the arms of England, Scotland, Ireland, and Hanover, engraved with lions passant guardant, a lion rampant, a harp, and the Hanoverian arms respectively. The date 2020 is divided symmetrically to either side of the horse's head at the upper field, flanked by an inner beaded border. The circumferential legend WHITE HORSE OF HANOVER arcs around the lower portion of the design, with the engraver's initials JC appearing to the lower right of the shield. The entire composition is struck in deep cameo proof finish against a highly polished mirror field. |
