| 裏面の説明 | The reverse features a bold, forward-facing portrait of Sweyn Forkbeard, the Viking king who conquered England in 1013, depicted wearing an ornate crown and displaying a long, forked beard, rendered in high relief against a frosted field. To the left, a stylized seascape of undulating waves occupies the upper portion, with Viking longships shown in mid-voyage. Below the waves, an outline map of England is engraved in the lower left quadrant, referencing Sweyn's conquest. The series title ENGLAND'S VIKING KINGS arcs across the upper field, with SWEYN FORKBEARD inscribed diagonally to the left, and the historic date 1013 appears in the exergue. |

Sweyn Forkbeard holds the distinction of being England's shortest-reigning king — just five weeks between his acceptance as king in late 1013 and his death at Gainsborough on 3 February 1014. He never received a coronation. Gibraltar has issued a substantial series of Anglo-Saxon and Viking-era commemoratives, and this piece fits within that program, though Sweyn's connection to Gibraltar is precisely nil.
