Beschrijving keerzijde A circular wreath composed of eleven stylised poppies, each selectively gold-plated, frames the central field of the reverse. Within the wreath, the renowned commemorative phrase 'LEST WE FORGET' is inscribed in the field, serving as the primary design focus of this Remembrance Day issue. The denomination £10 appears as part of the reverse legend, completing the patriotic and memorial composition. The selective gold plating applied to the poppy motifs provides a striking contrast against the frosted proof silver surfaces.

Aanvullende informatie

Jersey's 2015 Remembrance issue coincides with the centenary commemorations of the First World War, a conflict that hit the island with particular force — Channel Islands troops served under British command, and the occupation years of the Second World War left a community acutely conscious of what earlier generations had sacrificed. The selective gold plating on issues of this type was a technique that became widespread in the commemorative market during the 2000s and carries no minting precedent in circulating coinage.
