Additional information

Issued to mark the 70th wedding anniversary of Elizabeth II and Prince Philip — the first platinum wedding anniversary celebrated by a British monarch — this piece belongs to a suite of commemorative gold strikes that the Royal Mint produced in tiered weights. At 156.3 grams of .9999 fine gold, this is the five-ounce denomination in that suite, the heaviest of the standard collector offerings in the series.

Philip died in April 2021, four years after this coin was struck.
