Opmerkingen

Gibraltar's currency has always been as much political instrument as monetary tool, and this note leans into that openly. The Great Siege of 1779–1783 — when a Franco-Spanish force blockaded the Rock for nearly four years without success — remains the defining event in Gibraltar's self-conception as a British territory. Choosing it as subject matter for a £10 note issued during ongoing sovereignty negotiations with Spain was not an accident.

De La Rue printed the series at their Gateshead facility. Pick 36 spans a six-year issue window, so date varieties exist within the type.
