Aanvullende informatie

Gibraltar has issued commemorative gold in this format with some regularity, and the Waterloo bicentennial of 2015 prompted several mints across Europe to produce collector pieces. The battle itself ended Napoleon's Hundred Days — his return from Elba in March 1815 — and his final abdication came just four days after the June 18th defeat. Wellington reportedly described the outcome as "the nearest-run thing you ever saw in your life."
