Reverse description The arms of the East India Company — a quartered shield supported by two lions rampant, flanked by flagstaffs bearing the Company ensign and surmounted by a lion passant guardant — occupy the left-centre of the design, rendered in fine intaglio engraving on a pale guilloche ground. To the right, the colonial seal of Saint Helena, enclosed in an ornate cartouche and displaying a sailing ship, is set against a boldly guilloche-patterned ribbon motif that sweeps across the right half of the note. The date 2012 appears at lower right, with the denomination £10 at lower left.
