| 裏面の説明 | A standing dorcas gazelle (Gazella dorcas), also known as the ariel gazelle, is depicted in the central field in naturalistic style. The denomination '10' and the currency label 'Pound' appear alongside the date '2018' in the field. The engraver's Cyrillic initials 'ВБ' (Vitaly Bakhtinov) and their Latin equivalent 'VB' are inscribed in the lower portion of the field. The scientific name 'Gazella dorcas' is lettered across the design. |

The Hala'ib Triangle, from which this coin takes its regional designation, is a 20,580 square kilometer strip along the Red Sea coast claimed by both Sudan and Egypt — a dispute that has remained unresolved since 1899 and periodically flares into diplomatic confrontation. Sudan administers the territory; Egypt contests it. Issuing a coin that names the region is, in that sense, a quiet political assertion dressed as wildlife conservation.
The Dorcas gazelle population in the broader Saharan-Sahelian zone has declined sharply due to hunting and habitat loss.
