| 背面描述 | Full-length standing figure of Sir Winston Churchill, depicted in his iconic attire of top hat and bow tie, positioned before the doorway of 10 Downing Street. The design commemorates the 150th anniversary of Churchill's birth, with his birth year 1874 and death year 1965 flanking his name in the legend. The denomination TEN POUNDS appears in the lower field, and the inscription SIR WINSTON CHURCHILL arcs prominently across the design, rendered in crisp proof relief against a polished background. |

Churchill maintained a particular connection to the Channel Islands — his government's decision not to defend Guernsey and Jersey in 1940 remains one of the more uncomfortable strategic concessions of the war, leaving the islands under German occupation for five years. The British territories occupied by Nazi Germany. It is a detail rarely foregrounded on coins issued in his honor by those same islands.
