| Reverse description | The crowned and mantled shield of the Royal Arms of the House of Hanover occupies the central field, quartering the arms of England, Scotland, Ireland, and Hanover, surmounted by the Royal Crown. The shield is encircled by the jewelled collar of the Most Noble Order of the Garter, from which the George pendant is suspended at the base. A crowned and ermine-lined royal mantle frames the entire composition. The Latin legend 'INSIGNIA GULIELMI IV BRITANNIAE REGIS' — meaning 'The Insignia of William IV, King of Britain' — runs around the periphery, commemorating the regalia of King William IV. |
