正面描述 Uncrowned right-facing effigy of King Charles III, rendered in high relief against a finely engine-turned guilloche field. The portrait, modelled by Martin Jennings, presents the King in a mature and naturalistic style without regalia or diadem. The peripheral legend reads CHARLES III · D · G · REX · F · D · 10 POUNDS, disposed in large serif capitals around the circumference, with the engraver's initials MJ appearing within the legend. The combination of the polished portrait and the intricately textured background field creates a strong contrasting visual effect characteristic of modern Royal Mint bullion issues.

背面描述 The central device depicts the Queen's Lion, a crowned, passant-guardant lion statant in high relief, drawn from the historic heraldic supporters of the English and later British royal arms. The lion is shown with mouth agape and a full flowing mane, its right forepaw resting upon a shield bearing a heraldic device. The composition is set within an inner circle against a finely stippled field, with the shield positioned to the dexter side of the design. The surrounding legend, disposed along the upper arc, reads THE QUEEN'S LION · 10oz · FINE SILVER · 999.9, while the date 2026 appears in the lower exergue. The engraver's initials DL are present within the field, attributing the design to David Lawrence.

附加信息

The Queen's Beasts series, which concluded under Elizabeth II, has been selectively revisited under Charles III — a commercially driven decision by the Royal Mint to extend one of its most successful bullion programs into the new reign. The Lion of England, first in the original ten-beast sequence introduced in 2016, gets the first nod here, which is consistent with its heraldic seniority as the primary supporter of the Royal Arms.

The 10-ounce format was introduced to the Queen's Beasts line in 2017 and quickly became the dominant collector entry point for the series, outselling the kilo options by a considerable margin.
