Obverse description At left centre, a circular vignette enclosed by the bank's motto 'BONA FIDES REIPUBLICAE STABILITAS' presents a seated allegorical figure of Hibernia in classical dress, with the crowned Bank of Ireland seal above. A row of six heraldic county shields — for Tyrone, Antrim, Down, Londonderry, Armagh, and Fermanagh — runs across the upper centre, with the denomination '£10' in large bicolour numerals at upper right. The lower portion carries the place of issue 'Belfast, Donegall Place', the date, and the Chief Executive's signature, set against a multicolour guilloche underprint.
