备注

The Bank of Ireland's long relationship with Thomas De La Rue stretched across most of the twentieth century, and by 1967 the series this note belongs to had already been in production for over a decade — a unusually long run for a high-denomination Irish note without significant redesign. De La Rue's intaglio work on Irish issues from this period is generally considered among the cleaner examples of their commercial output, though the notes are not especially sought after for printing reasons alone.

The Republic's 1967 economic position was one of cautious optimism following the Whitaker-Lemass reforms of the late 1950s, and ten-pound notes were still serious instruments — roughly equivalent to a week's industrial wage. Heavily circulated examples from this period are common; uncirculated ones less so, as the denomination saw real use.
