10 Pounds

The Bank of Rhodesia and Nyasaland was a short-lived institution, created in 1956 following the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland and dissolved in 1963 when that political experiment collapsed under the weight of African nationalist opposition and British pressure. The 10 Pounds sits at the high denomination end of the series — serious money in Central Africa at the time — and Bradbury Wilkinson produced the plates with their characteristic precision for colonial-era issue work.

The Richards-signed dates are the final issues before dissolution, with the 03.01.1961 date apparently recorded in reference literature but no confirmed surviving example yet documented. A genuine Richards-signed specimen from that date would warrant scrutiny.
