Opmerkingen

The Southern Rhodesia Currency Board was a colonial monetary authority with no central banking powers — it issued notes backed by sterling assets held in London, a rigid arrangement that gave local authorities almost no flexibility over money supply. By the time this note was printed, the federation with Northern Rhodesia and Nyasaland was already being assembled; the Currency Board itself would be wound up in 1956 when the Bank of Rhodesia and Nyasaland took over, making this series among the last issued under the old colonial currency board structure.

Grafftey-Smith's tenure as Chairman was brief, which limits the signature's appearance to a narrow window within the 1953–1954 run. High-denomination notes of this period saw limited circulation and were frequently repatriated to Britain for destruction — survivorship at the £10 level is correspondingly thin.
