| Obverse description | The Sudanese national arms occupy the central field, depicting a secretary bird with wings displayed, set upon a shield and flanked by two flags, with a scroll below. The Arabic legend reading the commemorative inscription for the 15th Hijri Century arcs across the upper field, while the denomination appears in both Arabic (١٠ جنيهات) to the lower left and Latin numerals (LS. 10) to the lower right. The bilingual legend 'ISLAMIC WORLD 15 TH CENTURY' curves along the lower border, flanked by the dual date '١٩٧٩' and '1979', with 'SUDAN' centered below the arms.
