| Obverse description | Central field features the Sudanese state emblem comprising a secretary bird with wings displayed, bearing a shield on its breast and a scroll below inscribed with the name of the republic in Arabic. The denomination appears on either side of the emblem, rendered as '10' in Latin numerals to the right and '١٠' with 'جنيهات' in Arabic to the left, accompanied by 'L.S.' Surrounding the emblem, a continuous Arabic legend arcs across the upper field commemorating the 15th Hijri century, while the lower legend reads 'SUDAN' flanked by the Hijri and Gregorian dates '١٤٠٠' and '1979'.
